NOYES, a station of the Great Northern and Soo railways adjoining the international boundary, was named in honor of J. A. Noyes, the U.S. customs collector there. The village was established as a customs port of entry in 1905 in section 25 of St. Vincent Township; it had a station of the St. Paul, Minneapolis and Manitoba Railroad, and its post office began in 1927; it was platted November 15, 1933, but not incorporated.
